Rational Academy has taught the children of Agbakope since 2018 — pre-school, primary and JHS, one stream at each level. With 120 learners and 8 teachers, every child is known by name. Our crest carries the word Ephphatha: be opened.

To be a centre of excellence inspiring disciplined, innovative, and high-achieving learners.
To deliver high-quality, inclusive, and learner-centred education through visionary leadership, expert teaching, and active parent-teacher partnerships.
Every learner at Rational Academy develops these essential behaviours that prepare them for lifelong success.
Building a strong foundation of understanding across all subjects and disciplines.
Developing critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical abilities.
Instilling positive character traits, ethical behaviour, and a growth mindset.
Power and Brilliancy is the motto on our banner, and Ephphatha — be opened — sits across the middle of the shield. Everything above them on the crest says how we get there.

Bottle caps make perfectly good counters when you need them to.
Ghana's Standards-Based Curriculum, taught from pre-school through to JHS with one stream at each level. Assessment is continuous and formative — we watch a learner work, not just how they finish.
Class tests, project work and an end-of-term assessment. We report a position and an overall average each term, plus a cumulative card at year end — brilliancy you can actually point at.
The word on our crest means “be opened”. With 120 learners and 8 teachers, a child is not a number here — and their cumulative record follows them through every year they spend with us.
We are a rural school and we teach with what is to hand — bottle caps for counting, charts on every wall, and a bus so that distance is never the reason a child misses school.
“Ephphatha — be opened.”
— Rational Academy, Agbakope, since 2018
Our curriculum follows the Standard-based curriculum of Ghana, making every child a global citizen and giving every learner the best we have to offer.
Every lesson has measurable goals aligned with national standards.
Regular progress tracking ensures no learner falls behind.
Teaching adapts to each learner's pace and learning style.
Learners meet age-appropriate milestones recognized nationally.
Each program builds on the last. Learners don't have to adjust to a new school every few years — they grow up here.
Lots of sensory play, singing, and practical life stuff — pouring water, buttoning shirts. They learn by doing, and they love it.
This is where reading and counting take hold — often with whatever is to hand, from charts on the wall to bottle caps on the desk.
The bridge year. Reading becomes fluent, maths gets more abstract, and learners start working on group projects that teach collaboration.
Independent research, deeper thinking, and real responsibility. By the time learners finish JHS, they know how to learn — not just what to memorise.
All programs aligned with the Ghana Education Service (GES) curriculum.
Rational Academy runs a transport service for learners travelling in from around Agbakope, so the journey to school is as safe as the day that follows it.
Transport is charged as part of our regular fees, so a place on the bus is simple to arrange. Talk to the office about the route nearest you.
The Parent Portal gives you a real-time window into your learner's school life — results, attendance, fees, assignments, and direct communication with the school. No more waiting for report day.
The Learner Portal puts you in control. Access your materials, submit work, check your results, and see exactly where you stand — every day, not just at the end of term.
A milestone moment for our learners — and for the eight teachers who got them there.

Gowns, kente and a certificate in every hand. Families, teachers and the community come out together — in Agbakope a graduation is a village occasion, not a school one.

Eight teachers, 120 learners, one stream at each level. Small enough that every teacher knows every child by name — and knows which ones need watching this week.
“The class is small and his teacher knows him properly. When he was struggling with his reading we heard about it early, and they worked with him one on one until it clicked.”
“The bus is what made it possible for us. We are some way out, and before this getting her to school every day was the hardest part of the week. Now it is simply arranged with the fees.”
“We started her in pre-school and she can stay right through to JHS with teachers who already know her. Every term we get a report, and at the end of the year a card showing the whole picture.”
The best way to know if Rational Academy is right for your learner is to walk through our classrooms, meet the teachers, and watch the learners work. We offer personal tours every weekday — just call ahead.
